Pseudo-boehmite is mainly used as a binder for catalytic cracking catalysts. The pseudo-boehmite binder can not only improve the strength of catalyst, but also adjust the pore size distribution of catalyst, improve the hydrothermal stability of catalyst, adjust the acid active center density of catalyst and improve the catalytic activity.

In addition, pseudo-boehmite is widely used in chemical, oil refining and petrochemical reaction catalyst carrier, its typical examples such as hydro refining catalyst carrier, reforming catalyst carrier, methanation catalyst carrier and so on. Pseudo-boehmite is dehydrated to become gamma-alumina and can also be used as a catalyst.
